The New Rules about Advancing a Rank: IMPORTANT

So, I just talked to our General Ironide on Xfire, and he has endorsed my and Providencia's idea:
(meaning that it is fully functional as soon as we perfect the system)

RULES
1. No challenging Generals, unless they say you can.
2. Only one rank at a time, in sequence.
3. A challenger and the person he has challenged can not be re-challenged within a week.
4. If the challenger defeats the person he has challenged, then the challenger takes the other one's spot, and vice versa.
5. If the challenger loses, everything goes back to normal. The challenger cannot challenge for a week, but the person who was challenged CAN.
6. This will be determined by ONE, 15-minute match. First blood does not count. (Just so you know, first blood adds four points to the player's score).
7. The winner of this match will be determined by kills, NOT K / D ratios.
8. If, logistically, we can't have a 1 v 1 match (i'm counting on DO's niceness, etc.) we'll have to work around it. This will be discussed later.
9. Must post if your NOT going to be on Soldat or Forums. If not posted, every three weeks you will go down a rank. If you go down to Pvt. and another three weeks go by you will be removed from the clan.

ALSO: ONE IMPORTANT NOTE. FOR ANY NOOBS WHO THINK THEY CAN MOVE UP THE RANKS QUICKLY: ANYONE WHO JOINED LESS THAN A WEEK AGO MUST WAIT TWO WEEKS BEFORE CHALLENGING ANYONE. THIS RULE APPLIES TO EVERYONE, FROM NOW ON.

Also, i have to talk to Ironide, but we should determine how long inactive players can go (if they have not notified the clan of their absence) before losing their rank to a challenger.

@ gore --- we want the clan to be ranked by skill level, raight? exactly. so, technically, it's SUPPOSED to be hard for you to challenge your way up the ranks, because the best people should be at the top. Also, this keeps the balance of officers and pvts. Instead of promoting pvts and then having to recruit new people, the two "challengers" just switch places.

Is inactivity just not playing on soldat or not posting?

Also, challenges *should* be openly posted on forums.

@ Fulro, I have already kicked several people out of our clan. Do you want this clan to be good, or do you want it full on people who never post or play anymore. And its not going to get a bad rep for kicking inactive players out.

What if someone dosen't post on the forums, and plays on a server most other members don't play on?

Will they be kicked?

Posibly, if no one knows your on.

How about, if a person declines a challenge 3 times, he has to state a reason (to the challenger and to a general) WHY.

If a general thinks the reason isn't sufficient or isn't genuine he can order the challenged to take up the challenge. If he dosen't then the challenged is demoted and the challenger promoted.

i would rather it not be three times. two, or less...
cuz if they decline three times, that's almost a MONTH that people can't advance.

Does this mean that there will only be a specific number of each rank?
for example right now there are 9 Pvt.
Will there always be ony 9 Pvt.
and only 2 Cpt. available to fight for?
1 lt 1 Major Etc. Available?
b/c since rule #4 says the spot will be taken..
theres only like one Lt. available.

...rework the ranking system, so everything is pyramidal from top-down.
