XFire/Soldat Error Help ASAP

I'm new to XFire so perhaps some of you folk here know what's going on.

I usually open Soldat from the Start menu. But today, I decided to explore XFire more and tried to open Soldat from XFire...

FAIL. My settings were all reset: suddenly I was in fullscreen, my name was Major, and my maps list went poof...

So I decided to reinstall Soldat so that XFire wouldn't screw with it again, but nope - I can't even open Soldat outside of XFire anymore without reset settings unless I open it with "open as administrator!" Even then, the setting are reset and guess what, when I open up Soldat Configuration, the settings are all as I left them last time, including the unchecked "fullscreen" so I can't change anything back since it hasn't been changed there to begin with.

Maybe there's a Soldat Configuration thing in XFire and I just don't know about it and you guys are all laughing, so please point it out to me cause god am I lost.

So yeah, I'm hearing you guys want to start a scrim, and I really want to join, but I can't right now

Please help me out guys.

If you guys have no idea what's going on, I'll just uninstall XFire and reinstall it. I'll update you on how it goes, gj on the scrim!

Hey Ironide, problem solved, I think. I dived into the code in "soldat.ini" and change a few numbers around and viola, the full-screen went away and my settings came back. I'll see what happens when I download XFire again. So far, so good!

I'll try to be on a little today, and tomorrow.

I actually had a slightly similar problem.

When I opened soldat from xfire the first time, my name was AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and my colors were all screwed up, along with my clothing.

I just redid soldat.ini and it didn't happen again. Try that.

Coldkill, yes I payed for the registration - I'm not aware of other ways to get registered, do you?

no i dont no i am just saying i am sure that ppl that arent registrated will have some more problems with soldat then the ppl that are but that is just a thery

Not really true. Some reg cracks work without a hitch, some don't.
