Ranks of members

There's only one cpt, (Cpt. Erry), and I don't see him much.
And also, the policy now, is that cpts. can recruit.

Uhhhh so two things to suggest...
- get more captains.
- let the higher ranks recruit too.

Agree?

First of all, Cpt. is the highest member.

And also. How hard is it to tell me that somone wants to join.

yeah i agree but its hard to pick Cpt. cuz of jealuosy and some other things but we will try and make a list and narrow down who we might put ae another Cpt. thanks for the questions and commetns

uhhh, in the us army, a captain is below a major, above a lt.

but captains in general have the job of a recruiter [in the army], so this policy it makes at least some sense.

The admin has a point, any of us, (including privates in theory!), can easily post or message a recommendation about another player in the Join Section. But it's always nice for the Captains to have a formal responsibility.

in order to not have to worry about jealousy give ranks based on skill level (that's how most major clans do it atleast (tw clans)

Higher skill usually equals higher rank, except the clan starter and a right hand man which is usually gen and brigad gen

If you look at the other sections, you'll see we already discussed skill level and its place in the ranking system for TA.

Even without the system, it turns out that our ranks have been shifting naturally to what looks like skill-based ranks anyways. The other half of the TA organization appears to be based on activity level and an individual's ability to communicate.

thats right prov and we have a couple skilled and active members and thats what makes it hard to choose =)

make the people that its had to do go against each other in a 1v1 (you know fight for your promotion)

or put them both in a pub on opposite teams and judge their performance on there.

We see each other's performance quite often as those who are active often play together in the servers. Not that it's 1v1, but we can tell who's up to par.

uh, as everyone in this forum knows, i suggested (and tried to put into action) a system very similar to what jomyron just mentioned. but it didn't work so well...

well if memebers want to 1v1 for an open rank that is higher then theirs i dont have a problem with that just let me know so i can spec it and watch to see performances not just for the aar battle but for the choosing of a scrim helper =)

I agree, certainly, and furthermore I volunteer for this perilous duty.

i get higher rank if i play with TA clan members only then???
and if i dont get points and reputations then get kicked out clan???

lowest rank is Pvt. what is next? o_0
and what reputations are? same than points?

Thats cool, but remember we didnt like the 1v1 recruiting system, so why should we do a 1v1 rank advancement?

A 3v3 should be good enough to assess team dynamics and the like.

TA doesn't give rank by skill alone, but also by the amount of activity it sees from each member - like the good amount of time you're throwing in. However reputation and points are not not much alone for the higher ups to look at to judge each member's activity level. They will look at how consistent you are in making a few purposeful comments a day and then see you fighting well in either the eC or DO servers (most likely because they are closer to scrim servers than Leo). Being active once in a while on XFire usually gets the ball rolling for most.

Some of these Threads are outdated.
The latest idea going around is that 1 v 1 is not a good test. 3 v 3 TA or a good game in eC or DO is better, but remember skill is only half the battle, you must be able to lead too.
