Creat a platoon and the # of TA

This is a good idea for clan wars, but what about a more fluid and flexible system for everyday games?

I think it would simplify things if we just went by chain of command in those games, Generals all the way down to Privates. Many of us may not be able to stick around a series or even a whole game, and hence any Corporal (etc) should be able to give any Private commands, formally their own or not their own.

Also, is there a list of our member's positions on this forum somewhere? I was never told how to move up the chain of command.

hm, yes there is.
you just get promoted (i think) whenever Generals Ironide or Coldkill feel like it. =D

also, the platoon system is important not only for scrims, but also for 'alliance' or 'friendship' reasons (however you wanna put it). it sort of unifies the clan more, allows people to work together better.

but if you read earlier in this topic, you'll see that ironide verified what you just said. that, in case the people present in a game are from different platoons, the chain of command replaces the platoon system.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up anendor.. so where is this conversation continuing? Xfire? I just got started on Xfire so I have no idea what I should be doing (also, how come my Xfire avatar isn't showing up here, or is that even how it works) ;D

so i'm gonna go download it now.

basically, i PMed gen. ironide a 'groups' list so everyone can join a specific platoon group. then, as time passes, you'll be talking less to the generals and more to your platoon commanders and second-in-commands.

also, as we recruit more and more people (and TA is rapidly getting larger) more and more people will join the platoons, making them really a worthwhile endeavor.

also, a question more for general ironide: as corporal, if I see someone who I think is extremely good, and should join |TA|, can I tell him to put the tag on? And then refer to him to one of the official recruiters?

I think we're expected only to refer people to the official recruiters, and they'll make the final decision. (At least we won't get the blame if something gets messed up to look at it on the bright side)

Also, I think TA should take into consideration, the problem with DO - the promoted have hardly any privates to lead. Perhaps we could organize a system that keeps a fractionally proportional chain of command, and if members must, they'll compete for their position, rather than just be promoted. Kind of like orchestras and bands work, a member must challenge the level above and only one of the two can take the position.

We'll have to work on keeping the respect between members, but then again, the whole point is that we should endeavor to be more organized than other clans.

On the side, can someone please explain how I can get my avatar up?

as far as i understood it (and i understand it pretty well because i helped formulate the idea =P):
these three platoons are here to stay.
as new people join / get verified into the clan, they will be added TO THESE THREE PLATOONS (or six half-platoons).

also, on another note.
general ironide, do we want to scrim FA at any point in the near future?
